SHIB, how to get in the game?

I recently started my crypto journey and have invested some of my money into SHIBA coins. As I am very new to the game, I was wondering if someone could explain in a simple, somewhat logical/understandable way how I can profit. I saw a video of someone explaining that if you invested 1000$ in SHIB in august, you would now have 87million (?) I don’t know how they did the math or if that number is even correct, but how does it become that high of an amount when a single SHIBA coin ain’t even worth that much. How do you convert that amount into real money, where does all that come from?

Yes, it may be a stupid question to ask, but I genuinely want to learn and understand. Of course I have been browsing the web trying to find answers on my own, but it is quite difficult when you don’t know what to search for, especially when every site assumes you have been doing crypto for years.
