Something I wanted to post on shibarmy but then got to lazy to farm the karma. I really enjoy the shib community in general but the huge influx of new first time investors somewhat worries me from a mental health perspective. I work in the psychiatric field and even if money isn’t everything, financial problems can seriously impact mental health. Well yeah even if we’re probably all adults and that’s all cristal clear for you guys, here we go:
like SHIB! I very new to cryptocurrencies and I like the accessibility and some of the concepts. I also like that it attracts people who maybe invest for the first time in their life.
I invest in stuff since maybe 20 years and my learning curve was very slow. Some years with mediocre fonds from my house bank, later some stocks, later mainly ETFs, the pace was very slow though. High fees forced me to make few and well thought out decisions then it was HODL.
Crypto, as it is my understanding, is also mainly hold, but media attention, the community, high volatility make it seem so fast paced.
To everyone new to investing: take care! If you’re stressed, it’s okay. It’s also not just FUD. Everyone has his or her own history, how we deal with stress, uncertainty, setbacks and crushed dreams. Take stuff like lack of sleep, news and chart checking all the time or the urge to add just a little bit more to your SHIB account (even if there are open bills or very empty bank accounts) seriously.
Investing is great but has had it’s toll on many many individuals. Be it stocks, crypto, building a business or failing whatever.
Look after yourself, enjoy yourselves, make well thought out decisions but maybe also dream a little. That’s what’s SHIB is for me.
